The Saltwater Marsh, located in the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve, is currently closed to the public. Friends of Ballona Wetlands is, however, permitted to lead tours and volunteer opportunities in the Reserve, such as sunset hikes, restoration events, and creek cleanups. This special space is the last remaining coastal wetland in Los Angeles. It has suffered many assaults over the past hundred years, but with the help of restoration, is starting to make a comeback.
