California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is the lead agency for the planning, implementation, and management of the restoration of the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve (BWER). In the fall of 2017, the State and Army Corps finally released plans for restoration through a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). CDFW received thousands of comments on the DEIR to restore Ballona and they are currently reviewing the comments and developing the final report.
